GBL Systems Corporation (GBL) is a small business that primarily provides systems engineering and software development services to the U.S. Armed Forces and larger prime contractors. GBL derives an extensive wealth of knowledge and experience from its employees  Most GBL employees previously worked at larger organizations and apply their experiences and expertise to their roles at GBL. GBL's senior executive team contains over 100 years of combined technical, managerial and financial management experience.

James Buscemi

Founder and CEO

James Buscemi is Founder and CEO of GBL. He brings over 25 years of technical and program management experience to GBL. His extensive background includes the design, development, and integration of complex hardware/software systems, as well as the testing and integration of airborne and submarine-based real-time systems. He currently serves as Principal Scientist for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Test and Evaluation/Science and Technology (T&E/S&T) Program’s Net-Centric Systems Test (NST) Focus Area. Buscemi is also a Systems Engineer for the Joint Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JC4ISR)/Interoperability Test and Evaluation Capability (InterTEC) program.

James received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute in New York and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is also a frequent contributor to the International Test and Evaluation Association (ITEA) Journal.

James Bak

Chief Engineer - Software

James Bak joined GBL in 2001.   Mr. Bak's software development career began in the early '90's and has covered an extensive array of software development and systems integration including real-time embedded solutions for airborne avionics and armament systems; Global Positioning System satellite orbit modeling and clock correction solutions for the FAA's Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS); and net-centric based application development for the JC4ISR/InterTEC program.   He currently serves as the Product Area Technical Lead on the InterTEC program and the technical lead on a Tri-service Targets Interoperability project.

Mr. Bak holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).   Prior to GBL, he worked for Northrop Grumman and was a founding partner for a software services company with contracts to Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins and Raytheon.

James Dark

Vice President of New Product Development, and Principal Engineer

James Dark joined GBL in 2003. With over 25 years of technical and management experience in systems engineering and project management, Dark is responsible for new product development and program management. He is a certified Six-Sigma Plus Black Belt and oversees the use of statistical analysis in GBL's business and design decision processes. Prior to GBL, James worked at Northrop Grumman and Honeywell in various technical, engineering and managerial roles. 

Dark holds an M.S. in Systems Management from USC and a B.S. in Business Management from the University of La Verne. He is a U.S. Navy veteran.

Aaron Gavino

Chief Engineer - Systems

Aaron Gavino joined GBL in 1998. With over 25 years of technical and management experience in systems engineering and software integration, Gavino is responsible for leading GBL's systems engineering and test activities. His background includes the design, development, and integration of real-time software for avionics systems.   Gavino currently is the lead Test Coordinator for the Joint Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JC4ISR) / Interoperability Test and Evaluation Capability (InterTEC) program, and is responsible for test planning, test scenario development, and conducting distributed test events that integrate net-centric test tools to be applied in a Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) test environment.  

Prior to GBL, Mr. Gavino worked at Northrop Grumman and in Civil Service for the U.S Department of Defense in various technical, engineering and managerial roles.  Mr. Gavino holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCSD.

Dan Goldstein

Chief Financial Officer

Dan Goldstein joined GBL in 2003 as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the Company's corporate finance, accounting, financial planning, contracts and human resources functions. He has over 20 years of financial management experience in a variety of large, early stage, high growth and publicly traded companies.  Prior to GBL, Dan served in a number of financial management positions at Amgen, Ernst & Young and several early stage, high-growth companies.

Dan earned an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). He has served on the City of Thousand Oaks Investment Review Committee, was Chairman of the County of Ventura Tobacco Settlement Program Finance Oversight Committee and continues to serve in a number of other community service roles.
