GBL Systems staff has
extensive experience in the design and development of real time avionics
software. This experience ranges from software design and implementation
through integration and test. The following highlight the real time
avionics software experience that GBL Systems can provide to you.
F-14B Upgrade Program
The F-14B Upgrade Program
employs a distributed processing architecture designed around new and
upgraded F-14B subsystems. GBL provides software development support for
the F-14B Mission Data Processor (MDP) Executive (MDPX), MDP Operational
Flight Software (OFS), AWG-15H Executive (Bus Controller Remote Terminal
Aircraft Program (BCRTAP)), Controls & Display Navigation Unit (CDNU),
and the LANTIRN Control Panel (LCP) Remote Terminal (RT) functions.
GBL Systems staff has
performed the following software development activities:
- Developed and integrated F-14B Upgrade
tactical software using Ada and CMS-2M
- Developed rapid prototyping of MDP OFS
design concepts to prove the feasibility of dynamically controlling
MIL-STD-1553 bus messages
- Developed MDP OFS software build
executive programs
- Assisted U.S. Navy in establishing
configuration control software for the MDP OFS
- Developed and integrated with the U.S.
Navy an MDP OFS test program to establish the validity of the baseline
software for the Mission Data Processor Executive.
- Generated a full suite of tailored
MIL-STD-2167 documents for the MDP OFS
- Trained U.S. Navy on how to develop
software for the FMC MDP
- Developed MDP OFS tactical
applications in support of JDAM integration. Functions implemented
covered all 1553 interactions with the JDAM including Power Control,
Weapon Inventory, BIT, Weapon Control & Monitor, Transfer Alignment &
Time, Mission Data Download/Edit/Erase, and Launch Support
- Participated in the design of the
AWG-15H BCRTAP executive software and provide support to perform
necessary software updates after baseline release to the Navy
- Developed functional capabilities to
integrate the LCP as an RT on the F-14B Upgrade Avionics Bus
- Assisted in the development of CDNU
software to support navigation updates and correct anomalies
F-14D Full Scale Development Avionics Improvement
Program
The F-14D avionics system
consists of a distributed processing architecture designed around two
AYK-14 Mission Computers and MIL-STD-1553 data buses. GBL Systems staff:
- Using top-down structured analysis,
designed the software for the Air-to-Air Intercept and Attack
functions. These functions prioritize targets for multiple missile
intercepts; compute missile launch envelopes for Phoenix, AMRAAM,
Sparrow, and Sidewinder missiles; generate attack steering cues; and
initialize and support all missiles during launches.
- Generated associated sections for the
Program Design Specification (PDS) document
Subsystem Anomaly Resolution
GBL provided technical support
to perform analysis to identify the root causes) of CDNU and other 1553
connectivity anomalies affecting multiple avionics subsystems and determine appropriate
software solutions to resolve them. The effort demonstrated GBL's capability to
quickly assimilate new and legacy system designs to address problems.
